Stevedoring

Professional unloading and loading in the Triangle Region

We offer stevedoring services in Kolding and Vejle, where we unload and load ships from our quay-side facilities. We ensure that your cargo is transported safely from ship to terminal and onward in the logistics chain.

With over 300 ship calls annually, where we handle heavy cargo weighing 1,500–5,000 tons, we have built up extensive experience in stevedoring. Our employees are educated and continuously trained in cargo handling at the port.

What is stevedoring?

Stevedoring covers the tasks associated with unloading and loading ships in port. This includes handling both general cargo and bulk cargo, with each step requiring coordination between terminal staff, cranes, and transport equipment. In practice, stevedoring is the link between sea transport and land distribution, and it requires that the transition from ship to terminal is carried out safely and efficiently.

Good stevedoring reduces ship laytime and ensures that cargo is handled correctly. This requires the right equipment, thorough planning, and employees with practical experience in port environments.

Stevedoring of bulk and general cargo

Bulk and general cargo have different requirements in terms of equipment and handling, and we tailor our solutions to the specific load. Bulk requires equipment that can move large quantities efficiently, while general cargo requires precise positioning and care during unloading.

We have experience in handling steel, paper, building materials, and hazardous goods, and we put together the right solution for the specific task so that the process suits your goods and the requirements they impose.

Sustainability is a core part of our business. That's why we keep track of CO2 emissions for your transportation, and you can find your scope 3 data directly in our customer portal. See how we integrate ESG to promote a more sustainable supply chain.

Quayside facilities in Kolding and Vejle

Our stevedoring operations are carried out from terminals in Kolding and Vejle with direct connections to the rail and motorway networks. Goods can be transported immediately after unloading – by train or truck. We have warehouses located directly at the ports where goods can be stored securely until dispatch.

The close connection between the quay, warehouse, and onward transport makes it possible to organize a comprehensive logistics solution from ship to final destination.

Equipment and expertise

We have a wide range of machinery at our disposal, including specially designed forklift trucks and gantry cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 35 tons. This enables us to handle both heavy and bulky loads safely and efficiently.

We are certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and SQAS, which ensures that the handling of dangerous goods, among other things, is carried out in accordance with applicable requirements. The certifications also cover environmental safety, which means that both employees and customers can operate in a safe environment.

Stevedoring as part of a comprehensive logistics solution

Stevedoring is rarely an isolated task. After unloading, the goods typically need to be stored, transshipped, or transported further—and the entire chain must be coordinated. We offer a comprehensive shipping solution, handling everything from chartering and clearance to unloading, storage, and delivery to your customers. This also applies in combination with bulk shipping.

This gives you a single point of contact and a seamless process without any intermediaries.

Sustainability and CO2 data

Sustainability is a core area of our business. We keep track of CO2 emissions for your transports, and you can find your scope 3 data directly in our customer portal.

Sea transport is a more environmentally friendly mode of transport than road transport, and by combining stevedoring with rail for further distribution, CO2 emissions can be reduced even further. Together with you, we will identify the combination of transport modes that makes the most sense for your goods and your environmental profile.
