Increased manpower in Luxembourg and economies of scale with full trains

We have strengthened our department in Luxembourg, Daulux

Nicklas Hoffman joins Daulux as Operations Manager in a newly created position, where he will strengthen our services on transportation tasks to and from all of Europe. Nicklas has previously worked all over the world, having worked in Hong Kong, New York and Brussels.

We are therefore confident that Nicklas, together with our Country Manager Gordon Poulsen, will be able to provide the best service to all our customers.

Hero trains that leverage economies of scale

Whole train utilizing economies of scaleWehave expanded our service and over the past 2 months we have received whole trains from France on weekends. A block train solution is beneficial if you can assemble larger volumes (typically 15 railcars or more). Instead of weekly single-wagon departures, the goods can be consolidated and shipped every two weeks - and then stored in a warehouse in the local market so that the goods can be delivered to customers quickly and flexibly.

Benefits of hero trains:

  • Leveraging economies of scale
  • Goes directly from a to b (less shunting and handling)
  • High volume per departure and fewer departures for the same volume
  • Often lower CO₂ per tonne-km on long journeys than many single trips
  • Economic benefits

Rail transportation is gaining ground, partly due to high capacity and stable departures. On many long distances, trains can reduce CO₂ per ton-km compared to road transport alone. We advise on where rail makes sense in your supply chain. As the leading Danish logistics operator in rail transportation of raw materials, we are of course ready to advise you on how you can utilize rail transport.
