How do car tires affect the environment?

The transportation industry is one of the heaviest industries when it comes to CO2 emissions - and therefore fortunately also an industry that can actually help make a big, positive difference for the environment if the necessary focus is put on it. But it requires action, ability and a willingness to change the way you've been used to doing things. Because if anything is unsustainable in general, it's stagnation or decline.

Low rolling resistance = less CO2

Eco-friendly tires have low rolling resistance, which means that the vehicle rolls significantly further than conventional tires when the accelerator is released and the truck rolls more easily in direct drive. This has the effect that the truck generally needs less effort to keep moving, reducing fuel consumption and therefore carbon dioxide emissions. Of course, all tires have a specific lifespan, which is why it is also crucial that tires are handled in an environmentally friendly way when they are worn out.

Give your tires more life

When our eco-friendly tires are worn out, they're not just thrown away like normal tires. We send the tires back to the manufacturer who gives the tires a new life. New life through the reuse of vital and long-lasting materials. This reduces waste by reusing recyclable raw materials without compromising safety and operational stability - giving tires more life.

As the transportation industry is a heavy industry in terms of CO2 emissions, we have a responsibility to do what we can to contribute to a more sustainable future. We also have a responsibility to get our customers' goods safely and efficiently from a to b, which is why we at H. Daugaard always do our utmost to do this in the most environmentally friendly way.

That's why we have also installed Eco-Driving in all our trucks.
