H. Daugaard offers customers transportation on HVO fuel

As a step towards a greener future, H. Daugaard customers can now have their goods transported on trucks and trucks fueled with HVO diesel.
H. Daugaard is constantly looking for solutions that can optimize the company's service and make transport more sustainable and environmentally friendly. HVO biodiesel is one of the initiatives they will now offer customers as an alternative to traditional fuel.
HVO stands for hydrogenated vegetable oil and is an alternative to conventional diesel. HVO biodiesel emits up to 90 percent less CO2 than normal diesel.
New HVO tank installed at H. Daugaard
At the address in Kolding, they have installed an HVO tank to service the trucks that will run on HVO diesel in the future. The tank, which can hold up to 5,900 liters of HVO biodiesel, can be used quickly if the demand is there.
The first customers have already shown interest in the new transportation solution, where trucks are initially refueled with HVO biodiesel instead of traditional diesel, and H. Daugaard hopes that more customers will follow suit.
- We want to help our customers become more environmentally friendly - that's why we are ready to invest together with them, says Fleet Manager Palle Albertsen.
The fleet is ready
One of the advantages of HVO fuel is that the trucks in H. Daugaard's fleet are already ready to run on HVO diesel. The same goes for their trucks that transport goods around the warehouse. This means that once the company's new HVO refueling system is up and running, it won't require much replacement of the fleet.
- All our trucks operating in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia are prepared to run on HVO diesel, says Fleet Manager Palle Albertsen.
Transportation by truck, ship and train
At H. Daugaard , transportation of goods is not something that only takes place on the road. We offer our customers a wide range of solutions that also include transporting goods by train and ship.
- Because we have sea transport, rail transport and road transport, we can try to find the most sustainable solution possible, says Fleet Manager Palle Albertsen.
Constantly looking at solutions for the future
At H. Daugaard , it is always important to be adaptable. That's why they always have their eyes on the horizon, and although they are now introducing transportation solutions with HVO biodiesel, that's not where they end.
At H. Daugaard , they are constantly looking at how to make transportation more sustainable, and when new solutions emerge, they are ready to look that way.
Whether it will be hybrid trucks, electric trucks or something completely different is not yet known, as it depends entirely on technological developments, which H. Daugaard follows closely. But for the company, it is important that the solution is long-lasting.
- We always make sure we look at how it works from cradle to grave, not just if it works right here and now, and this applies to every initiative we do," says Palle Albertsen.
