H. Daugaard invests in electric trucks: A concrete step towards a greener future
Transport and logistics company H. Daugaard has invested heavily in electric trucks and the first three have now been delivered and put into service. The investment marks the start of a broader electrification of the company's fleet and emphasizes H. Daugaard's ambition to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote sustainable solutions in the transportation industry.

“We don’t just want to follow the development – we want to help shape it,” says Palle Albertsen, Fleet Manager at H. Daugaard. “Electric trucks are a natural next step in our strategy to ensure the logistics of the future and a more responsible transport sector.”
The three electric trucks are the first in a planned series of green investments, and H. Daugaard has already placed additional orders to be delivered later this year. The vehicles have a range of up to 600 km and will be deployed on routes where their capacity can be fully utilised, ensuring that the transition to electric power is both efficient and operationally reliable.
A Boost for Both the Environment and the Business
Among the key benefits of electric trucks, H. Daugaard especially highlights the reduced CO₂ emissions, the elimination of local air pollution, and the quieter operation – the latter being an advantage in urban environments as well as for drivers' working conditions.
“We’ve had a very positive reception internally. The drivers have quickly embraced the technology and particularly highlight the comfort and the near-silent driving experience as something truly special,” says Palle Albertsen.

Integration and Charging Strategy in Practice
The electric trucks are already integrated into the company’s daily operations. Route planning has been adapted to optimise range, and charging has become a natural part of the logistics flow.
“One of the biggest challenges has been planning the charging and adapting the routes. This has required close coordination between drivers and our dispatch team,” explains Palle Albertsen.“That’s why we’ve invested in our own charging infrastructure and updated our IT systems, allowing us to optimise both range and charging times. This is essential to ensure that electric trucks become an effective tool – not a limitation.”
Technological Innovation and Future-Proofing
As part of its future-proofing strategy, H. Daugaard has invested in Mercedes-Benz trucks equipped with Megawatt charging, enabling charging for up to 400 km of driving in under 30 minutes – once the necessary charging infrastructure becomes available within the next 1 to 1½ years. This investment not only supports the current electrification of the fleet but also ensures that H. Daugaard is ready to take advantage of future technological advancements.
Long-Term Strategy and Collaboration
Electrification is an integral part of H. Daugaard’s broader sustainability strategy, with the aim of gradually replacing parts of the fleet with electric alternatives as the technology evolves.
“We see great value in forming partnerships with manufacturers, energy providers, and technology suppliers who can help move both us and the industry forward. The future of transport requires us to think holistically and collaborate across sectors,” concludes Palle Albertsen.
With this investment, H. Daugaard strengthens its position as a responsible and future-oriented player in the transport sector – while taking an important step toward a more sustainable future for customers, employees, and society as a whole.
