Groupage – Efficient consolidated freight for your transport
Groupage offers you a flexible and cost-effective transport solution. We offer professional handling, full traceability, and regular departures to all of Europe.

Not all shipments require a full truckload. With groupage, you get a cost-effective transport solution where you only pay for the space your goods actually take up. When multiple shipments are combined in the same transport, both freight costs and the number of trucks on the road are reduced.
What is groupage?
Groupage, also known as less-than-truckload shipping, is consolidated freight where several customers' goods are combined in the same vehicle or container. Instead of paying for an entire truck, you send your goods together with other shipments going in the same direction.
This makes transport cheaper because the costs are shared between several customers. You are not dependent on having enough goods to fill a trailer, but can send exactly the amount you need. For many companies, groupage is the right balance between price and delivery speed.
How general cargo transport works in practice
We receive your goods at our terminal in the Triangle Region, where we consolidate them with other customers' goods going in the same direction. Here, we ensure correct labeling and documentation so that the shipment is ready for onward transport.
Transportation is typically carried out via our road transport, but depending on the destination and time frame, we can also combine this with shipping or rail transport. This allows us to put together the solution that best suits your goods and your delivery deadline.
You can track your shipment throughout the entire process via our customer portal and receive regular updates so that you always know where your goods are.
International groupage solutions
Our groupage solutions cover the whole of Europe. Together with our partners, we can offer consolidated shipments to most European destinations with regular departures and short transit times.
For international shipments, we also handle customs and documentation. We have many years of experience with international transport and ensure that all the practicalities are in place so that your shipment arrives without delay.
By combining groupage with our shipping solutions, we can also handle shipments to more distant destinations. No matter how many countries and modes of transport your goods cross, you will have a single point of contact who will follow the shipment from start to finish.
Companies that benefit from groupage
Groupage is relevant for many different companies with varying transport needs:
Small and medium-sized enterprises
Companies that ship regularly without having the volume for full loads get a reliable transport solution with general cargo transport. These may be manufacturers of spare parts, industrial goods, or components.
Companies with seasonal fluctuations
When transport needs vary throughout the year, groupage provides the flexibility you need. You can ship when you need to, without committing to fixed capacity or building up large stocks.
Manufacturers and wholesalers
Companies that regularly ship goods to customers in several European countries can consolidate their shipments and obtain a transport solution with lower unit costs.
The advantages of choosing general cargo transport
With groupage, you share the transport costs with other customers, which results in lower freight costs than dedicated transport, where you pay for the entire vehicle.
You also get a flexible solution where you can ship goods as needed without having to wait to fill an entire trailer. This makes it easier to tailor transport to your needs.
Groupage is also a more environmentally friendly form of transport. Fewer trucks on the roads means lower overall CO2 emissions. You can track the environmental footprint of your shipments directly in our customer portal, where you will find scope 3 data on both specific shipments and your total transport consumption.
Security and traceability
We handle every shipment with care. Our terminals are secure, and our staff are trained in the correct handling of different types of goods. We are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and we are SQAS certified for the transport of dangerous goods.
Traceability is standard with us. You get full transparency throughout the entire transport process and can plan the delivery and inform your own customers accurately.
With us as your transport partner, you can expect reliable delivery, flexibility, and personalized service.
The choice between groupage and full load
Does your cargo fill less than an entire trailer? Then groupage is typically the most sensible choice. You only pay for the space you use and don't have to wait to gather enough cargo to fill an entire vehicle.
Full truckload (FTL) makes sense when you have enough volume to fill an entire truck, or when delivery time is critical. With full truckload, you get transport directly from A to B without any stops in between, which means shorter transit times.
Are you unsure which solution is best for you? We are happy to help you assess the options based on your cargo, destination, and time frame.
