EU road package against social dumping and for a better working environment
Learn more about the EU Roadmap against social dumping in this article.

What are the new rules?
- The driver's work outside his or her home country is considered posting and must therefore be paid according to applicable national conditions.
- This means that driving between Germany and Spain, for example, must be paid according to German and Spanish collective agreements respectively.
- All trips must be registered in a new administrative system IMI (EU control system).
- Cabotage rules or rules for using foreign drivers nationally are further tightened.
- Once the quota is used, the car must be shipped out of the country.
- Requires the car to return to its home country every 8 weeks

So what does this mean for the transportation industry and our collaboration?
- A lot of extra administration - especially to ensure that the driver receives the right salary in the countries they work in.
- Many wasted kilometers and unnecessary CO2 emissions when the cars have to return to their country of registration, where goods are rarely carried.
- Increased pressure on capacity.
The above naturally creates increased costs for the entire logistics industry.
