CO₂ and fuel-efficient driving is in focus at H. Daugaard

At H. Daugaard , we are committed to reducing fuel consumption and thus CO₂ emissions in our operations. We want to lead the way with solutions that make transportation more CO₂-efficient in practice. That's why we use an eco-driving system that is integrated into our fleet. The aim is to reduce fuel consumption so that the actual emissions per kilometer driven are lower.

The system helps - the driver makes the difference

‍Asystem by itself does not lower consumption; the effect depends on driver behavior. The essence of eco-driving is that it gives the driver tools and feedback to drive more fuel efficiently. The system measures driving behavior based on six parameters:

  • Idle speed
  • Overspeed
  • Braking
  • Hard braking
  • Rolling out
  • Coasting

Eco-driving works via an on-board computer in the truck that collects real-time driving data. Drivers can track their performance on the road, as shown in the image.

Continuous improvement and healthy competition

‍Ourdrivers are continuously improving in fuel-efficient driving. Engagement is high - it's become a friendly internal competition where both driver and fleet manager can see data at a glance. Here you can see how drivers rank on eco-driving parameters.

We are proud of our drivers' efforts-they have changed driving habits in a more fuel-efficient direction and created measurable improvements in everyday life.

H. Daugaard's Fleet Manager, Palle Albertsen, says about eco-driving:
"Now I have seen the development and I am very pleased with the development our drivers have gone through."
